An allied-health clinic that doesn’t feel clinical
- Property
- First-floor tenancy in a period building
- Scope
- Reception, waiting area, corridor and four treatment rooms
- Duration
- 5 months
- Services
- Commercial spaces
01
The brief
Patients arrive tense, and the old fit-out made that worse: bright overhead light, rows of chairs and a reception counter like a ticket office. We replaced it with built-in seating under the arched windows, a lower reception desk and a panelled corridor with wall lights.
02
The key decision
- i.
Cleanable, not cold
Wipeable performance fabrics, a resilient sheet floor in a warm tone and limewash-effect paint that can be touched up on the spot.
